About this Project:
The Pioneer Hall expansion and renovation at Saginaw Valley State University was a project designed to modernize and expand the university’s engineering and technology facilities. This work included a 30,000-square-foot addition and significant upgrades to the existing structure, supporting SVSU’s growing mechanical and electrical engineering programs.

The building’s mid-century rectangular brick base showcases expert masonry craftsmanship, with a carefully blended brick pattern and intricate lines that add depth, texture, and visual interest. The modern, glass-filled expansion above houses specialized labs and serves as a prominent, visible feature, creating a striking contrast with the traditional brickwork below.

The combination of classic brick detailing and contemporary glass design highlights both the building’s interior functions and its aesthetic appeal.
