The building underwent a transformative architectural renovation from 2007 to 2010, which redefined its exterior identity. Prior to the renovation, the stadium’s facade was largely utilitarian concrete. Today, the structure stands as a powerful blend of tradition and collegiate elegance, anchored by rich brickwork and classic design elements.

The updated exterior features deep red brick that closely mirrors the architectural character of the University’s historic Central Campus. The brick “M” insignias were carefully laid into the masonry, showcasing craftsmanship and school pride in every detail.

Carefully laid in a traditional running bond pattern, the brickwork is accented by limestone trim and arched window openings, offering a timeless and academic aesthetic. The four towering corner structures—clad entirely in this refined brick—create symmetry and visual strength while housing club seating, media boxes, and circulation spaces.

Wrought iron details and ornamental fencing complete the look, reinforcing a sense of permanence and prestige. The renovation didn’t just modernize the stadium—it elevated it to architectural significance, blending functionality with a façade that honors Michigan’s legacy of excellence.
